Lake House

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Lake House. We had one issue when we arrived but Eric handled the situation very well and treated us right. The house was very comfortable and we enjoyed our time. The view of Lake Monroe from the house was awesome.

The place was really lovely, there’s a lot of places go around and hike. The cabin itself was really nice and secluded with a great view, Eric was very responsive as well!

We had such a great time at the lake house! We got up and used the hot tub and walked around the lake every day. There are lots of trails nearby. The kitchen was fully stocked, and it was easy to cook and do whatever we needed to do in the house. We hope to come back here soon!

Eric was a great host and prompt in communicating with us. Given the distance from amenities, we brought food and prepared almost all of our meals at the cabin. We asked about grilling facilities, and were happy to find a park-style grill outside and charcoal in the house.

We greatly appreciated the cabin’s pet friendly policy. We finally found the WIFI password. (It’s in tiny print on the bottom of the receiver.)

There were some significant kitchen issues that should have been caught before we got there. We left it much better than we found it. The cabin needs some updates and organization, especially in the upstairs bathroom. Being tall is a disadvantage in several places in the cabin. It is not handicap accessible.

Overall, it was just the getaway we needed.

This place is a fantastic romantic weekend getaway. Just note that the only road to get there is a gravel road with lots of hills and turn-backs. Some cars might not be able to make it if road conditions aren’t great.

When they say remote they mean it, the gravel roads are long, windy and beautiful. This is the kind of place I’d go to find peace, great location. House itself was very clean and exactly what we wanted, the perfect size for our cabin in the woods weekend getaway. Nashville is also a short enough drive and definitely recommend visiting!

What can I say? It was everything I imagined it to be and more. The Lake House is a perfect size for a small group of 4 or a romantic getaway for two! The view was amazing and had multiple balconies to relax and enjoy it with, especially from the hot tub. An incredibly relaxing/peaceful experience; well worth the price. Definitely be sure to bring food and basic essentials, as the closest store/restaurant around is a half hour out. But overall, 5 out 5 stars!

Absolutely worth the price. Everything was very clean and well taken care of. Included items for identifying and watching local birds which was unexpected but so so cool. A little difficult to find and get to, but absolutely worth the stay.

This lake house was perfect for my childhood friend retreat. Located in a beautiful quiet area, the multiple decks, fire pit, and hot tub provided hours of entertainment and ambiance. The home was comfortable, quaint, and provided all necessities for our stay. Eric was very responsive with any inquiry. I only wish we had stayed longer in this peaceful lakefront home.

Was a great little weekend get away - the only thing I would say is it is not wheelchair accessible which was fine fir us but keep in mind if you need an accessible accommodation this will not be it.

The Lake House was an absolutely amazing place for our family to watch the 2024 eclipse surrounded by nature. Beautiful views and a clean, comfortable cabin. The kids had a blast walking down to the lake, running around the property and exploring nearby Nashville and the state park. A wonderful place to spend a wonderful trip.

This place is so incredibly special. So private and serene. Sunrise with coffee in the hot tub with the birds singing all around you is magical. We’ve come back two years in a row now and will probably make it a tradition!

This was a great place to stay. We did encounter a few bugs, but it was nothing to worry about as the location is out in the woods so bugs are to be expected. Overall, the Lakehouse was exactly as described. Hot tub was especially nice, and the view was great.

We stayed at the Lakehouse Cabin. It was so adorable and the scene from the deck, over looking the lake was simply beautiful ❤ The cabin had everything we needed for our stay. Very well cleaned and kept. Can't wait to plan our next trip and come back when the weather is a little warmer.

Very peaceful and beautiful view from the balconies. The jacuzzi and other amenities make it a relaxing but interesting stay. One of my favorite airbnbs to this day and will return!

Very secluded and peaceful, hot tub was great. Water is brought in and kept in a cistern so bring water if that's a concern. Canoe had a broken seat so didn't use it. It's alittle bit of a hike to get down to the water which was alittle challenging to do in flip flops. Also there are natural stone steps to get into house so bringing in a large cooler or suite case could be alittle challenging as well. Overall had a great time. The loaded ipod and speakers were a nice touch.

Great location, beautiful view of Lake Monroe, and nice quiet area. I highly recommend this place because of how serene it was and they had provided everything we needed. The beds were comfy, the hot tub was nice and there was a fire pit if we wanted to have a fire.

We stayed at this lakehouse 2 years and chose it again due to how secluded and peaceful it was. I will say look at the weather for the week cause the road we road in on flooded leaving us at our cabin with no way out. also the power was out on arrival but that was all due to bad weather. we loved the hottub and the view!

The lake house is a cute little house with a beautiful view and great hot tub. People have mentioned the gravel road coming in but it is an excellent and maybe the nicest grave road I’ve been on. Don’t let that deter you. This is a great place to get away from everything. If you looking for a place to stay and go into town often, this probably isn’t the place as it’s 30 mins from town. We enjoyed soaking in the hot tub after fun days of mountain biking at brown county. I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 star because the inside is nice but not 5 star nice. I do think it’s overpriced compared to the other bnb’s in the area. Lots of fees added on made this one of the more expensive Airbnb’s we’ve stayed in and don’t think it’s that caliber.

The view is gorgeous and the hot tub was clean. There is a gravel road to access the place, but that's pretty common for Brown County. The water people did show up unannounced, so we were surprised to see a man staring in the window at us one morning. The place wasn't as clean as other rentals we've had in the area, but it wasn't awful. We did do some cleaning ourselves upon arrival to feel better. Something to be noted, I am 5'3" and I was looking right at the showerhead in the one shower of the house. My 6' husband had to take the sprayer off and hold it in order to shower.

The lake had great fishing and an absolutely stunning view from the hot tub. Cabin Is a good little ways back a rock road, but a perfect getaway none the less!

We went for a quick getaway for our wedding anniversary, we loved everything! The location is perfect and quiet. We will definitely return for another visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed our girls weekend at The Lake House! The remote disconnect was just what we needed! Only thing we would change would be to add a smidge of lighting in the front for the walkway and the fire pit. Thanks so much for sharing your little slice of heaven with us!

The ride to the house once off the main road was a good 15-20 min drive on a gravel but the views were beautiful and there was always some kind of wildlife to find along the way. The house had everything we needed for our stay even food/cleanup for our dog. Due to the rain we were not able to use the firepit during our stay and the gas grill in the picture has been replaced with a charcoal grill but charcoal and nice utensils were provided. The walk down to the lake was nice and the area was perfect for some fishing. There were plenty of extra towels and blankets as well. The hot tub was one the nicest we've used at an Airbnb too. This was the perfect little house for our small family for a nice quiet getaway. Thanks again!

This was a great stay!! I would like to comment on some previous reviews. About the gravel road; this is one of the nicest gravel roads I have been on. It’s well maintained and wide enough for vehicles to pass each other safely. If you have never driven a gravel road, you wouldn’t know this, and honestly this place is probably not for you. Also to the appearance; yes the outside is dusty. Again, this is a gravel road. You are paying for a secluded cabin on a lake. That is precisely what you’re getting. The lake house is not perfect, but it is exactly as described. It is clean, easily accessible from a nice gravel road, and on the lake. There is a slight walk to the lake. The path to get down is nicely done and easy to find. It is a few minutes walk, but nothing strenuous. The canoe is nice and easy to find and use if you want! Would definitely consider staying here again!

Our weekend trip did not disappoint despite the rain when we came & rain when we were leaving. The gravel road others were talking about is approximately the last 12 minutes (5 miles) of your travel to get to the Lake House. It really wasn’t that bad considering where the lake house is located (in a forest). After reading reviews , once we got there we noticed some things others were suggesting to bring with to the lake house were already there (dish towels, cutting board). We assumed there was a gas grill there since someone left a remark about an empty propane tank and not being able to grill. When we got there the first night we noticed it was a charcoal grill and had to grab charcoal the next day. (I can’t recall if that was listed or not , it was more than likely our mistake lol). Like others said , bring some drinking water with. When we GPSed some places for essentials it seemed like it would be such a long drive but to be honest , since most of that drive is the gravel road , it really wasn’t too bad . There’s a handful of places to rent boats from to explore/fish Lake Monroe. There are also two canoes on the property along with paddles & life jackets. The hot tub was clean & ready to enjoy 🙂 . Plenty of board games , linens, utensils, pots & pans, towels. We really didn’t need to use a lot of the stuff we brought from home . We brought our lead for our dog but noticed they had one inside in the closest. We fell in love with Brown County and plan on coming back ! Thank you to Eric & his cleaning staff !

My partner and I came here to get away and be lost in the woods. It was a great location, but there is a home right across the street. Also some folks came to work on the yard while we were outside during our stay which was a surprise.
Otherwise, the home was nice (mostly clean other than dusting that needed to be done). It was nice being able to cook there, since there is nothing very close. There is a canoe you can use which was super fun!
The hot tub was the highlight; even though we didn’t get to use it the first night due to the folks before us not closing it up properly.
I would recommend this home for a quiet getaway.

We had a great little getaway here. The long road up is gravel but it’s the best gravel road I’ve ever been on! Walk down to the lake took me less than 3 minutes. Propane tank on the grill was empty but I honestly didn’t inquire whether or not it was included. Firewood is NOT included but can be provided for a cost.

This cute quirky cabin was just perfect for our anniversary trip and fit our personality perfectly! Loved our stay! We will be back!

Beautiful place in a very senic area. There is lake access, but it requires a bit of a haul with the watercraft.

This cabin was perfect for our weekend away. Eric was a great host with excellent communication. The views from all the decks were amazing as well as from the hot tub. This is a remote area away from it all. The drive in on the gravel road was beautiful. It was also great to be able to bring the family dog along. We would certainly book again if in the area!

Wonderfully remote area. No sounds of highways near by. We spent a lot of time on the porch overlooking the lake and listening to the birds. Great for stargazing as well. Was perfect for an unplugged weekend.

Incredible views from the huge windows facing the lake. Binoculars and bird books provided. Hot tub was amazing in the snow. 2 cozy fireplaces. Road was not bad (as indicated by others). Lots of pans and dishes, fully stocked game closet. Multiple decks.

Me and my family spent 3 night at Lake House and it was amazing! This place is a beautiful place for when you want to get away from the laud city vibes, we absolutely loved it! The place succeeded our expectations for sure. There’s no enough good things to say about this place! Definitely recommended.

Cozy little cabin tucked away from it all. Lovely view on the deck. Easy checkin and out. Loved their game selection. Take note it’s a 15 minute drive off the main road up and down a wind narrow road, in case booking in the winter months. 25 minutes always from Main Street in Nashville. Easy check in and out.

we absolutely loved our stay here. we were a bit nervous about based off some reviews of a long drive in, being not as clean, and being told by the owner that they didn't have canoes on property...

yet all of these fear were put aside when we go there! absolutely beautiful views, very very cleanly for a lake house, and two lovely canoes that were both in great shape. the hot tub was absolutely amazing and ready to go; my husband and I spent time in it nightly. the drive into the cabin occurs on a gravel road but there's no potholes or dips and it's well maintained for hill country. honestly, wasn't bad at all!

the bed is one of the most comfortable we've stayed in; the fireplace indoors is picture perfect. there were a TON of cooking supplies, so there's honestly no need to bring your own (which we had worried based off some reviews, but ended up not really needing to use any we brought besides a cutting board and we cooked every meal).

definitely will be returning; 10/10.

the only things to be aware of: the ceiling is low on the upper story, so a tall person will have to duck. there's also no drying rack and not many kitchen towels, so be prepared to use extra towels to hand dry and hand wash all the dishes.

Beautiful views and comfy home! Very clean. There is a couple mile drive on gravel road but it’s honestly not bad. I think the mixed reviews are those with patience, and those without. I would recommend bringing some kitchen skillets and some utensils if you do cook and don’t just have easy meals! The upper bathroom with the shower is not meant for tall people, luckily we are average height, haha.

Most relaxing and peaceful trip! We made a last minute decision to head here and we’re so glad we did. We enjoyed the the quietness of only nature sounds. Lots of relaxing in the hot tub, took the canoe out for a little while, and grilled! October was a beautiful time of the year to visit with all the leaves changing colors. Great weekend get away

This was a great stay. It was remote but not too far from civilization. The drive to the lake house was beautiful, especially with the leaves changing colors. Not as gravelly as I expected based on some of the other reviews. The view from all of the decks was so nice! We really enjoyed using the hot tub and the canoe (we loved seeing the herons closer than from just the shoreline). The house is in the best spot for stargazing or just watching the critters in the surrounding woods. It was well-stocked and very clean. Bedding was clean and comfortable, bathrooms were cleaner than I had hoped for as well. Generally I am very nervous about cleanliness when I stay at random places and even I had no complaints. I would suggest bringing your own bottled water though if you're a water snob like my boyfriend! Overall a 10/10 getaway.

We had a nice stay. I was thankful for the suggestion about bringing your own drinking water. The hot tub was great, as was the variety of games to play if weather was bad. The decks provided a nice view and we enjoyed hearing the owls. Hot dogs and s'mores made fireside were nice. The huge bed upstairs was quite comfortable. We spent most of our time outdoors exploring Brown County. For the family, horseback riding at the state park was a hit, and ice cream at a local Nashville shop was the best.

Very clean for being a cabin in the middle of the woods. I like being down a gravel road, so driving a few miles down gravel was a positive for me. There is water access from a path, it's on a hill but worth the walk. The hot tub is as clean as you'd expect it to be. No crazy rules or check out expectations

Yes! Book now! This property is so peaceful and beautiful! Bring all groceries, drinks and coffee because you will not want to leave. It’s at LEAST 25 minutes from the nearest store. Three separate decks to enjoy the trees, open sky and lake. There was a canoe, 2 kayaks & firepit available for use - but we just enjoyed the hot tub! The master bed was enormous (felt like a California King!) and one of the MOST comfortable beds at an AirBnB we’ve ever been to. The master bedroom & bath had more of a dollhouse feel and my husband had to duck his head to move around it but I was completely fine. (I’m five-foot-nothing!). Eric, the owner was incredibly easy to work with and very responsive. We already told our friends about this property so they could book this fall!

Perfect, quiet, escape cabin! It's for the simple, laid back nature lovers. The turbo jets on the hot tub were nearly as good as a deep tissue massage too! Loved the kayaks and paddling around the lake. The two kayaks, life jackets, cushions, etc were what made this cozy hideaway perfect. Loved the additional amenities such as the binoculars and ipod / speaker system to shuffle through various music. It stormed most of our visit but we enjoyed the thunder and lightning. Definitely tiny bathrooms but we didn't mind. I would recommend bringing your own drinking water.

This was such a nice little spot, not too far from town, but secluded enough to really relax.

Not a lot of bang for your buck, but a perfectly cute and functional space with great views and a hot tub.

Small cozy cabin. The beds were comfortable and the decor was cute. It was located in a pretty remote spot, no cellphone/internet connection but not too far from town. It was nice to be able to disconnect from the city and work and just lay back and rest.
I would suggest that you write down how to get there and the door code, to avoid getting lost and/not having access to the app. Lots of things to do in town and the views are just amazing. It was clean and very well stocked. Thank you Eric for such an amazing weekend. we would def like to come back soon

Perfect weekend getaway.

The Lake House was a lovely, quiet getaway - exactly what we were looking for. There was an unexpected problem with check-in but Eric was able to quickly fix the situation. We would absolutely come back and stay again!

We stayed here for a weekend getaway, along with our dog Sam. The kitchen was cozy, but had everything we needed to cook all of our meals there. Our favorite feature was the hot tub overlooking the lake. An added plus was the fireplace, which Sam very much enjoyed. I would love to come back in the warmer months to enjoy the lake. If you do come during winter months, I'drecommend a vehicle with 4-wheel drive, as it is definitely off the beaten path and down a curvy and sometimes steep road.

The location is perfect: close to Nashville and Bloomington (as well as Brown County State Park) but deep enough in the woods to feel submerged in nature. What makes this little gem special, however, is its location, the beautiful views of the lake, and the hot tub on the deck. Very private.

The Lakehouse is adorable but small. The upstairs bedroom has a sloped ceiling, too short for my husband. So watch your head! But the three decks, hot tub, and the amazing view are all wonderful. It is so quiet and peaceful. A trip around the lake in the kayak or canoe along with watching the sunrise over the lake make for a wonderful trip!
