Charley's Cabin is the perfect retreat for those seeking relaxation by the fire pit or in the hot tub under the stars. You'll create unforgettable memories here that will add to the cabin's legacy. Only a short drive away are the Brown County State Park and the delightful shops and restaurants of Nashville.

Charley's Cabin was built on the site of Alfred Oaldon's old blacksmith shop by Charlie Fox between 1987 and 1990. To replicate his childhood home in Brown County, Charlie used logs he cut himself on an old sawmill he owned as a young man. During WWII, he served in the United States Navy in Guam as a Seabee, where he honed his valuable building skills in constructing airstrips. You'll find more information about the cabin's fascinating history throughout the space.

We stayed here for the first time in the fall. The town of Nashville is a Stars Hollow lookalike. Everyone is so kind and there so much to do. Charley’s Cabin was better than expected! A private hot tub with a fenced in yard. The fall leaves were the perfect color. The cabin is so cozy and sleeping arrangements are so comfortable! I’ve already recommended this stay to several of my friends and I plan to come back.

What an incredible cabin! The place was so clean and organized, had great accommodations, and the little details did not go unnoticed. Not only did this cabin have some form of entertainment for everyone, it had history as well. From the neat artifacts from over 100 years old to the story of Charlie intertwined in the decor, this place a unique stay. I brought my daughter and two of her friends for the weekend to celebrate her turning 13! They enjoyed the hot tub, game room, and even the antique view finder! I enjoyed walking around the property and sitting on the back porch or by the fire pit. We had a wonderful time and were very pleased with every aspect of our stay!

Loved our stay at Charley’s Cabin. The cabin had everything that we needed. Instructions for everything were very clear. Very short drive from downtown Nashville and there were plenty of recommendations and games to play at the cabin. My only two complaints are that check in wasn’t until 4 PM -which wasn’t ideal for my family’s plans. Wish we knew this while booking so we could have planned differently. Second - one of the first few pictures on the listing shows the fire pit with a bunch of firewood behind it. When we got to the cabin, there wasn’t any firewood and instead there was a number you could call to purchase wood. This felt a bit misleading and I think the picture with the stocked wood should be updated to show the condition it was in during our stay.
Overall, these are two very minor complaints about what was a fantastic stay. Very peaceful, beautiful, and well stocked with everything you could need for your visit to brown county.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Charley's Cabin. It was super clean, welcoming, and everything was accessible. There was a small snag at check-in but Eric's team was quick to resolve it.(Thank you Michael) There were plenty of fun games provided. The only thing I had an issue with is the sloped ceilings, especially in the upstairs bathroom. Overall, I'm completely satisfied with the price I paid for the quality experience that MoonDance provided.

We loved Charley’s cabin! So many personal touches with the antiques, game room and informational materials. The whole place was pristinely clean! Bathroom towels are pretty small, but that’s a very minor complaint. It was conveniently located to the shops and restaurants in Nashville. This cabin and space is absolutely beautiful. We spent 3 days for a girls trip and can't wait to make it an annual thing. The walking path around the yard was nice to walk after meals. The history of this cabin, and the man who built it, is such an inspiration! The beech trees are Not carved on! The hot tub and back porch are fabulous, as are the new side deck and the fire pit area. You truly have thought of everything to ensure the making of wonderful memories! We had a great time the cabin was awesome. I honestly couldn’t have imagined a better place to spend our anniversary. Everything was clean and the cabin looked better in person than in the pictures. Hot tub was super easy to use as well. The upstairs does get hot with the heat even at 65-66 and it is QUIET at night, so I’d recommend taking a fan for some noise and to have some air movement upstairs at night. Nashville was a nice town to visit as well. If you drink, Hard Truth has the best whiskey I’ve ever tasted. We hope to come back sometime.

We stayed at Charley's Cabin for 3 days and everything was perfect. Everything was clean, smelled amazing when walking in. Everything was cozy and soft. The hot tub with the woods behind and the lighting was perfect. We were suprised to see all the Christmas decorations and lights outside which made my day. Moondance was exceptionally fast at responding to emails We had and even recommended a great place to eat when asked. We have already planned to stay again this summer. We wanted to immerse ourselves in nature and Charlies cabin was a great place to start! A beautiful log cabin with a lot of antiques and history. The cabin was fantastic. Clean and great location. Team was very responsive to messages and questions.

2 things to note: a lot of rules on the property. Made us a bit stressed with so many labels and heat/AC being monitored. Also, there was no where in the listing that noted the ‘extra’ cost for pets. Pets allowed and nothing was noted. If I missed this, please let me know.

Charley's Cabin is so much bigger than what the pictures show on the Moondance website! We were amazed at the size! It's a gorgeous cabin and there are so many extra amenities than what most cabins offer. When we first walked in, we were greeted with such a lovely scent. Everything was IMMACULATE! We have stayed in a lot of cabins over the years, and it is safe to say that this has been the best one yet!

It is a pet friendly cabin, yet you would never even know!! We couldn't believe how nice this cabin was! It was private, yet only 10 minutes from town. Eric was extremely friendly and quick to respond! We are actually staying at another one of his cabins this weekend and look forward to it! I've been recommending this place to frienda and family!

A hidden slice of heaven!

This cabin was absolutely beautiful. It is so peaceful at night. We took advantage of the front porch and the back porch. The scenery is so gorgeous. My boyfriend and I took this little weekend getaway on the suggestion of my daughter who has been to Nashville, Indiana before. It was better than I expected. We even brought our rescue dog Charlie along. He loved all the smells and loved hiking the little trail behind the cabin. We took advantage of the hot tub as well.

We spend the entire day on Saturday in the Brown State Park and then shopping downtown Nashville. Everyone was so friendly and pleasant to talk to. If you are looking for a getaway, I would highly recommend the place. The cabin was spotless and had everything you would need for a weekend away. For days of relaxation it is the best place, waking up to the sound of nature was incredible. The house inside and outside is very clean, it basically has all the essentials for the stay there. My friend and I stayed at the cabin for a writing retreat. It was a perfect spot. The cabin was cozy, the kitchen was well equipped, and the internet was fast and reliable. The location was quiet and secluded (however, it was pretty close to the street, and many drivers went quite fast, so if you bring kids or pets, you need to keep an eye open). The hot tub was relaxing, and they had a great fire pit and grill in the front yard. The back porch overlooked the woods, which made it particularly nice. My friend and I stayed at the cabin for a writing retreat. It was a perfect spot. The cabin was cozy, the kitchen was well equipped, and the internet was fast and reliable. The location was quiet and secluded (however, it was pretty close to the street, and many drivers went quite fast, so if you bring kids or pets, you need to keep an eye open). The hot tub was relaxing, and they had a great fire pit and grill in the front yard. The back porch overlooked the woods, which made it particularly nice. Charley’s Cabin was all it was described as and more. Beautiful & peaceful location. And while it was near the road, the traffic wasn’t bad at all. The cabin was spotless, beautifully presented, and well equipped, . I would definitely recommend staying here.

What a beautiful getaway spot to celebrate 35 years of marriage. We enjoyed everything about our stay at Charley’s Cabin and can’t speak highly enough about it. We especially loved relaxing in the hot tub and sitting by the fire after a day of hiking in the state park and shopping in Nashville. We hope to return in the future and will definitely use Moondance Vacation Homes when planning our trip.

This was the nicest rental for Airbnb/ VBrO we have ever done in multiple states and Puerto Rico.
The rooms were clean, house smelled great, beds were comfortable, and the added extra amenities of games, kitchen items, bathrooms, and hot tub.

Charley's Cabin was a wonderful stay! Very clean and just as described and seen in pictures. About 10 minutes from shops and restaurants in Nashville. The location was a good mix of being private and set away from the hustle and bustle, but also close enough to town. The hot tub was a great addition, as well as all the fun games, both inside and outside. Many interesting and historical touches in the cabin as well. We very much enjoyed our stay!

We absolutely enjoyed the cabin though we were a little put off by the location. The pictures on the wedsite were a little deceiving. We were under the impression that the Cabin was secluded, in the woods, off of the road away from others, this was not the case. Though it was beautiful we a little put off that the fire pit was in the front yard, traffic going by constantly even police sirens at one point. It was not as secluded and private as we had hoped. The only other thing was that a coffee pot would have been greatly appreciated!! No one wants to fight for that first cup off coffee in the morning so the one cup kurig was not cutting it lol.
Overall we enjoyed the Cabin and will not hesitate to visit again but now we know what to expect

Charlie’s cabin is a great place to relax. It’s a good place if you have kids with its own trail and games and large fire pit area. The living space is comfortable and the outside space is very nice. Also right around the corner from the cabin is a great place to eat called the Farmhouse Café and tea room. We highly recommend.

Deposit Policy
To confirm a reservation Moondance Vacation Rentals requires a nonrefundable deposit of $50 to be paid at the time the dates are secured. This deposit goes toward the reservation total. Taxes and processing (15%) and the damage waiver fee will be added to the rental amount. Payment in full is required 7 days prior to the check in date. Moondance Vacation Rentals will automatically charge the balance due to the original card on file 7 days prior to the check in date. Reservations made within 7 days of the check in date will be paid in full at the time the reservation is made. Special arrangements can be made if paying by cashier’s check or cash but the entire balance must be received 10 days before the check in date.
