We really enjoyed our stay at Eric’s property on Lake Monroe. The hot tub was the perfect amenity that we needed for a relaxing trip, and the pool table always adds a layer of fun to it as well!

We had a great stay after our wedding in Bloomington. The accommodations were absolutely fantastic-we would love to visit again!

Everything was the way the pics showed. The 5 mile gravel road with drop offs on either side and washed out gravel did scare me a bit however we took it slow. Now the actual curve bent road/driveway was an experience I myself do not want to do have again. We did move our car back to designated parking. We got the best leg workout from all the stairs. Over all it was a quiet spot with cabins nearby. The jacuzzi and pool table was used frequently.

Eric’s cabin is worth the drive from Nashville — about 30 minutes. We loved the privacy and view of sunrise over the lake from bed!! We also thought the hot tub was great for the cool nights after hiking. The sunroom with a view was pretty and bright for breakfast or quiet time. My front wheel drive RAV 4 did fine on the steep driveway as long as I used 2nd gear up and 1st gear down.

I enjoy the cottage it’s was very nice location and it looks as advertised.

Soaring Eagle was perfect for our low-key 10th anniversary trip. It is so quiet, all you can hear are the birds, it did so much for my anxious brain. As others have written, you will want to bring food with you (which I thought was fun), and the cabin has all kinds of bowls and utensils for cooking. Bloomington and Nashville are 30-minute drives, but we didn't mind the gravel roads, and we drive a small car. Our dog loved splashing in the lake, and the cabin was super accommodating of dogs. Other cabins are much closer than I expected and, you can hear your neighbors pretty clearly, some who let their dogs run free- I only mention that for others who may have dogs who bark at everything, or don't get along with others. The pool table was super fun, and the hot tub was everything I wanted it to be. Loved it.

Such a nice place for a weekend getaway! Would love to come back in the summer. Only downsides: 20 minute drive on gravel roads to get to the house, no lights out by fire pit and no curtains/blinds in the living room and bedroom (can be sort of eerie). Even with those small things, I would still come back! The hot tub was so nice and we attempted a fire but everything was too wet. The bed was extremely comfortable. Found a couple of bugs but what can you expect with the house being in the woods. Loved it!

My husband & I rented the cottage this past weekend and had a great time! The views of the lake are breathtaking, the kitchen had everything we needed. We would definitely go back!

Very beautiful location and the home was very nice. The view of the lake was really awesome and peaceful. Everything worked well (Fireplace, grill, hot tub, etc.) and we felt very at home. The hot tub especially was a highlight. I would recommend this place to anyone.

The only complaint I would have is related the drive to get to the place. It is 5 miles of dirt/rock road to get to the cabin which we did not expect, and it snowed 4-5 inches overnight right before we were to leave. It was a fairly scary drive. This however does not have anything to do with the cabin itself, just the only road leading to it. The amount of snow was also unexpected, and without the snow the drive is totally fine, it is just a dirt road.

Even with the unexpected snow and difficulty of the road home because of it, I still give this place 5 stars. It was really relaxing and incredibly beautiful. We would rent this again in a heartbeat.

Soaring Eagle is a perfect getaway cabin for a peaceful escape. Beautiful views of Lake Monroe and the woods. The hot tub was a great addition for the chilly winter nights in. I will say that we found the price a little high for a slow season getaway.

Had a wonderful week there. So peaceful with the fireplace was perfection. So much wildlife. Water pressure wasn’t the best but hey your up in the mountains secluded and peaceful can’t have it all lol

This place was lovely for our anniversary trip. We really enjoyed the hot tub and rustic vibes. My only suggestion would be to bring larger towels for the hot tub. The ones provided were quite small.

Had a wonderful and relaxing time! Cabin was secluded and allowed us to disconnect and recharge. Very clean, lots of things to do, including board games, movies, hot tub, fire pit, pool table. Our dog Max loved being able to go along on his first vacation!

great location, very private out by the water and no visible neighbors. we where only 25 min away from downtown brown county where there is endless amounts of good food, boutiques, and incredible small town hospitality everywhere you go. not to mention horse back riding at the state park is about the same distance away. we enjoyed the pool table and hot tub!

My husband and I loved our 5-night getaway at the Soaring Eagle cabin! It was private, quiet, beautiful. The cabin was clean. The bed was very comfortable. Multiple spaces to hang out in: living room, billiards room, sunroom, hot tub, deck, fire pit or sit down by the lake. The view of the lake from the deck was slightly obscured by the many trees as the leaves hadn't fallen yet, but the deck was our favorite spot to eat, enjoying the view and fresh air, listening to birds, and watching the bald eagles fly overhead. My husband attempted fishing once but caught nothing as the water was too shallow near the bank and his line didn't reach deeper water where the fish were. The hot tub was only warm when we arrived, but it was repaired promptly and was then hot and very relaxing. We wish we had brought: (1) binoculars to see the wildlife close up and (2) a kayak for my husband to roam the lake and fish from. We had a very relaxing time and look forward to returning again.

It was peaceful and quite just what we were looking for. The place was clean. We did drive down the first day but it was a little hard to get back up with front wheel drive so we parked up the hill and took the stairs down the rest of the time. Which was no big deal for us.

This stay was exactly what we needed! Beautiful scenery and a well-kept place (we kept saying we wished we owned a place like this cabin.) The owner had thought of everything we hadn’t! The place was clean, tidy and comfortable. Would visit again!

This cabin is amazing! Direct access to the lake. We fished, swam, and played pool. My husband caught a huge catfish! The best part was bringing our dogs with us to enjoy it all! After reading some of the reviews, I thought the drive would be more intimidating. My husband had no problem navigating the driveway in our car. We will definitely be returning next year!

Great cabin! On lake monroe—which is rare! We learned from one of the locals that back in the 60s or 70s they stopped allowing homes to be built on the water. We had a great time taking our kayaks out. Sunrise on the lake was beautiful. Cabin kitchen had everything we needed to make a few meals. The grill was nice too. Driveway was very steep as advertised, but we did just fine in our truck. Enjoyed the distance to Nashville to explore the shops/wineries. Overall, we had a wonderful time and we would love to come back again.

Eric's home was clean and easy to get to. Looked exactly like the photos posted. Beautiful to wake up to the sunrise over the lake and spend the day down by the water. Very secluded spot, at times we could hear the neighbors, but couldn't see them. The hottub didn't get higher than 94° which was a bummer, but the host was responsive to us letting him know we couldn't get it to heat up. Tons of games and things to do in the house and a TV for those who want one. Was a great way to spend a long weekend!

We had such a wonderful stay at Soaring Eagle, and so did our pup!! We fished, played pool, relaxed, hung out by the fire pit, and just had an overall much needed relaxing time!! Soaring Eagle is beautiful inside and out! The kitchen was well stocked and had all the cooking and grilling utensils we needed. The place was very clean and well thought out!! We woke up to beautiful sunrises on the lake each morning! The wildlife was awesome too, we saw a bald eagle and two tiny baby turtles! I was kind of apprehensive from reading reviews about the steep driveway, but we had no problems what so ever in our AWD Jeep! The instructions for check in and check out were very clear and easy! Eric was an awesome host and very quick to respond to my questions prior to arriving! I wish we could have stayed longer! We can’t recommend this place enough and would definitely come back!!

We had a wonderful time! This place was so perfect- lake access, views of pelicans at Middle Fork, cozy & relaxing. I definitely plan to book again when I come back in town.

A lovely stay! The cabin is a little out of the way - not hard to get to, but it is off a gravel road which is typical of the area. The driveway is indeed steep, and I’m glad we didn’t need to park at the top and walk down, it looked like the equivalent of two stories of stairs.

Absolutely beautiful views, clean cabin with no clutter, had all of the essentials. Very private. Easy check-in and check-out. I’m so grateful there was Wi-Fi, since we had no cell service. I’ve stayed in a Moondance rental before and have always had a great time, but Wi-Fi isn’t available at every property (and we truly only needed it to be able to contact family if needed).

We came to Nashville for a kid free weekend and a Lee Brice concert and decided to stay at Soaring Eagle. We felt right at home. My wife and I spent an entire Saturday listening to music while enjoying the hot tub and playing pool. We grilled steaks on the gas grill that was provided. Very secluded and peaceful. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Stayed here during a snow storm. Nothing against the owner. Not their fault. Just wanted to prepare future guest. Definitely need 4 wheel drive for the drive away and during the winter. Our rear wheel drive 2024 Dodge Ram Laramie was stuck on ice on top of gravel when trying to leave. Luckily we managed to get our vehicle out because none of the towing companies we contacted would come out that far due to the inclement weather/ice. Definitely a scary feeling when you think you’re stuck and no towing company can make it out. So I would highly recommend having a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Will definitely come back.

Definitely off the beaten path, but a very peaceful seclusion with a great view of the lake during the day. Follow the advice and make sure your vehicle can handle gravel roads and a steep grade for the driveway. Still close enough to visit hiking spots, Nashville, and Bloomington. Will look to stay here again in the future.

So peaceful and private!!! Loved watching the migrating birds. The hot tub was so clean and perfect! The Florida room was our next favorite, being heated and with a great view. Would absolutely stay here again and bring friends because the downstairs room with the pool table and Florida room is the perfect vibe for having a good time!

this was a very easy space to stay in. everything was really beautiful and there was so much space to sit and enjoy the environment. the hot tub was wonderful and easy to use. additionally, the host was very detailed in their instructions but was not overbearing in any way. we enjoyed this a lot a may very well return in the future.

My wife and I were looking for a place to rest, refresh and to have some time alone. The cabin was perfect. The deck, the hot tub and the spectacular view really made this place special. We will definitely visit again.

Nice, clean cabin. Perfect for a little getaway. Eric was very responsive to messages and flexible letting us check in early due to incoming storms. There were lots of board games which was a nice perk that we did not expect, and also some supplies for pets, which came in handy!

My mom and I went for a quick trip to get away from home on the first anniversary of my dad’s passing. It was very peaceful and a restful place to spend that time. My new pup loved the place too! So glad we could bring him with us!

Absolutely perfect little get away!

The location of this property is breathtaking! It was so secluded I felt as we were in a different country. The property was exactly as pictured and the bed was so comfy I did not want to get up. Definitely worth the value. Would love to come back when there are leaves on the trees. Only complaint, no hair dryer, but I paid it forward and left a brand new one!! (Very snowy, rainy when I arrived and wanted to dry my hair....)

We had a lovely first trip up to Nashville as a couple. The location was BEAUTIFUL although a mostly gravel road up to the cabin (not a problem if you have the appropriate vehicle as recommended). Just some minor feedback for everyone wanting to stay here: This location is not wheelchair accessible due to the amount of stairs, which was fine for us. I would recommend a 4x4 vehicle to get down the hill to the location (otherwise more stairs). It is rather far from civilization XD so be prepared for that. Only recommendation would be to have coffee readily available for guests and more towels.
Otherwise lovely location. AMAZING hot tub other than the jets not being very powerful. (But coming from someone who doesn’t have one at all I’ll take it).

We enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean and Eric was a very responsive host. It was a great place to relax. The location is not ideal though if you are wanting to do things in town. Maybe I didn’t look enough into that when booking! We felt a little to far away from everything.. other than that it was a nice place.

Soaring Eagle:
It's actually been a little bit renovated from the last time pictures were taken - from what I can tell. I think it was only 1 bath? But there was a half bath downstairs. Either I missed that description when I was looking at it or it was just added. Nonetheless it was a nice surprise as it was my husband, myself and my 6 month old along with another couple.
The drive really isn't that bad it's just hilly and gravel. The driveway is the worst part about it. But if you're used to going through hills (we're from Ky) then it's just the same.
Beds are comfortable enough.
The kitchen is supplied with all you'll need.
Hand soap and dish soap were both supplied as well as toilet paper and paper towels (not sure if there's always paper towels or from the last guest).Over all it was a great stay, we are thinking my about coming back in the summer for lake activities. It's on the back waters so in the winter water is pulled so it's basically just mud, but still nice view.

My husband and I had a wonderful anniversary trip in this secluded cabin. We were able to relax and listen to the sounds of birds/wildlife all day and enjoy a bonfire every night. You can’t beat the view of the moon and stars at night and sunrise from the bedroom in the morning. The only downside was that the lake was very shallow and mostly mud thanks to Mother Nature. We brought our kayaks and fishing gear but couldn’t use them this time. I definitely want to go back again!

The property was clean and instructions were organized. The view to lake Monroe was spectacular from both the living room, sun room, or second floor deck.

We had a great time at Soaring Eagle. The location is unbeatable, especially in the fall. We were close (but not too close!) to town and to the state parks. Also loved that this cabin is dog-friendly. The upstairs bed could use an upgrade. Having a full kitchen was great, as we didn’t want to trek into town every time we got hungry! A four-wheel drive is essential to get down the driveway safely, and is very helpful for the miles of gravel roads in the area.

Beautiful views in a secluded, peaceful spot. It’s located pretty far from town and there’s about 5 miles of unpaved/gravel road to get there. Truly a “getaway”.

Lovely cabin and great spot right on the lake. We took our kayaks out on the lake and didn't see another soul, it was so quiet and peaceful! The hot tub was very enjoyable as well.

My husband and I loved every minute we spent at the cabin . He caught some fish we relaxed played pooled and ventured into to Nashville for shopping and wine !!! Excellent little get a away !!! Will come back !!

We enjoyed our stay and would book again! There were many extra unexpected amenities (hairdryer, coffee, condiments, firewood, etc.). Only thing we needed that we didn't find is a small sauce pan. Otherwise, amazing! Thanks!

Great get-away for the weekend. Bring your canoe/kayak, firewood and your swimsuit. I imagine this would be a great family get-together for 4-6 people. I was great to disconnect from the daily rat race! Eric is a great host and had easy communication throughout the reservation process! It is a beautiful cabin with all the main amenities needed to be comfortable. We were even able to log into our Netflix account and watch our shows!

Our second time staying here and definitely not the last. Great place to get away and unwind.

Soaring Eagle cabin provided my husband and I am amazing oppurtunity to rejuvenate while we celebrated our birthdays! We were so happy to be able to take our boys (pups) with us. One provides service work for me but I was so relaxed that he didn’t have to alert me the whole time we were there! 10/10 recommend!☺️

Our family of 4 enjoyed staying in this cabin in early July 2022. It is perfect for those who want a secluded vacation with great view of the lake. Property host Eric was very responsive and helpful with questions we had prior to our visit. Our only tips are related to things beyond the property owners’ control… bring LOTS of bug spray, and try to remember everything you could need in advance. The closest places to buy anything are to drive into Bloomington or Nashville, which are both about a half-hour away. So, a bag of ice is an hour round-trip. We stay in this part of the state often and have always wished for just 1 convenience store between Bloomington and Nashville, IN! Also, be aware that this part of the lake is pretty, but has very shallow and warm water, so you might want to seek deeper waters for mid-summer swimming. Great for kayaking, though!

This is a unique property. A great location on the lake and a good distant from the neighbors. The house was clean, comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked for easy meal cooking. A good place to get away for a few quiet days of reading in the woods by the lake.

If you're looking for a good retreat into nature, this cabin is perfect! It was well stocked with items needed for cooking which was much appreciated!!! The veiw was amazing and the hottub and firepit were a great bonus! This was a perfect weekend getaway for me and my boyfriend. Thank you!!!

We loved the place! Aside from the standard amenities there were some very thoughtful touches. We stayed over Easter weekend & there was a basket of goodies for us. Since the cabin is pet friendly there was a basket of stuff for a dog. My favorite part was the view of the lake from our bed. The hill is a bit steep but we were still able to launch our kayaks right there if anyone is considering doing some paddling on the lake.

The driveway is very steep and there are lots of gravel roads on the way so be safe! Totally worth the drive!

The Soaring Eagle cabin was a perfect getaway location for my husband and I on our last little vacation before welcoming our first baby in May! The cabin felt isolated with gorgeous views of the lake! We especially loved the deck and lower level sunroom. The fireplace was a lovely feature to make the cabin even more cozy. The steep driveway is no joke like the other reviews mention --we have an all wheel drive vehicle so we had no troubles. We are already looking forward to coming back to experience this cabin in other seasons! Can't recommend this perfect woodsy getaway enough!

Really wonderful stay. The stars and the silence at night was amazing. Watching the birds over the lake in the morning was fantastic. We made it up the driveway fine in my sedan. TC Steele house had some neat trails. It is a long gravel road to get to the cabin so you’ll want to limit your back and forth from town. Will be back and will bring my kayak next time.

The view can’t be beat. Have to remind yourself you’re really in Indiana. Cabin is comfy, and secluded as well.

Such a cozy cabin in the woods! My husband and I went for a weekend anniversary getaway and it was perfect. The property is very private with an amazing lake view and a hot tub. There's also plenty of restaurants to eat at nearby in Nashville and Bloomington. Would highly recommend this place!

This cabin was great! The view was fantastic and hot tub was very relaxing. We also loved the fireplace and open space outside! This place has everything you need for a getaway.

Eric’s cabin was everything we could’ve wanted! I’ve been living in Indiana my whole life and never would’ve imagine I could find such a unique experience so close to home.

This was such an amazing stay. To be able to wake up every day and see the view, to relax by the fire or in the hot tub, or just lounge in the downstairs patio. This was just the respite we needed! 10/10 would recommend!

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. What a lovely property surrounded by nature. We found everything as expected & in good working order. We loved the hot tub (really easy to open & close, & very secluded!). Also, the pool table was fun for the kids. We love visiting the artist studio tours each October.

However, we found the exterior walkways down to the lake somewhat unstable. If you're mobility is limited & you're hoping to spend time down to the water, this place may not be for you. We also recommended to the owner that they create some level space around the fire pit & at the lake, since those spaces were on a slight incline.

My family and I had a awesome time at soaring eagle cabin. it was well accommodated, we had a amazing time, everything was perfect.

This place was amazing! If you like a secluded place with easy access to Monroe Reservoir, you will love this location!

If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to be, with Mother Nature! The pool table was great for the rainy night we had, and we LOVED the VERY NICE hot tub!

Nice place! VERY remote- looooong drive on gravel road to a very steep driveway. 4WD or AWD is a serious must, even in summer! If you want to get away and be unseen and unheard, this is the place for you! Bring all your necessities for fun and food and you won’t need to leave. Kayaks, SUPs, fishing, all the perfect location! Cabin is nice and has plenty to do.

We would absolutely stay again! My husband and I came with our 2 dogs for a weekend getaway and it was pretty perfect! A couple things: bring a kayak or fishing gear, the lake isn’t super swimmable in this area, there’s lots of bugs so be prepared, if you have a small car i highly suggest not going all the way down the driveway and parking at the first set of stairs you see as the driveway is very steep with loose gravel.
All in all, a great stay!

Lovely secluded cabin along a beautiful lake. Perfect way to “get away from it all.” Kayaked on the lake (bring your own) and saw eagles, herons, deer, turtles, fish and more! Bed was very comfortable, kitchen well stocked with amenities and a few extras, enjoyed the pool table and board games.

The cabin was lovely! Our favorite feature was the hot tub. The driveway hill is no joke - I would say four wheel is necessary to actually drive down to the cabin, though they do have steps down to the cabin if you have to park up top. The view is lovely, and the cabin is quiet and cozy.

This cabin is a gem. The location is fantastic- right on the water and very secluded. You can't see your neighbors and it's a very quiet part of the lake. The cabin itself is cozy and perfect. Bedroom and bathroom are quite large and the kitchen and living room flow well. The porch upstairs is wonderful and huge. Pool table and hot tub are great to have, located on the lower level. We didn't use the enclosed porch on the lower level much during our stay, as it was summer, but it would be wonderful during colder months of the year. The house has access to the water, but it is a steep incline. Bring floats or a canoe to best enjoy the water! Several good spots to set up hammocks and we also enjoyed the fire pit! Make sure you have 4 wheel drive to get down the driveway!

Cozy Cabin right off the lake!

We booked this cabin knowing nothing about Nashville Indiana, ans boy were we pleasantly surprised! The cabin is a bit secluded which was well worth the 20 min drive off the main road for us. Views were breathtaking! It was recommended that you have 4 wheel drive, BUT I would say it is a MUST! It made getting to the cabin very difficult. The bed is so comfortable, the fireplace was wonderful, it is so quiet, loved the hot tub, and we can’t wait to return!!!

We had such a wonderful stay at Soaring Eagle. Nashville is an easy 30 minute drive for shopping and food. Will stay again.

The stay was amazing!

If you enjoy solitude, peace and quiet, this is definitely the place for you. Bring everything you’ll need and just spend the time relaxing.

The evening that we arrived the setting sun was hitting the trees on the far side of the lake - it was stunning! Worth the couple of mile drive down the twisty gravel road to be able to see that gorgeous view from the huge back deck, living room, master bedroom, 4 seasons room, and hot tub. We brought kayaks with us and spent an entire day out on the water, which was so peaceful since there are no motorized boats in that large section of the lake. We easily launched them right there in the back yard. Our 4WD pickup helped us get up and down the steep driveway in the poring rain, but as other reviewers have mentioned, there is also parking at the top of the hill with stairs down to the house if you don’t have a 4WD vehicle.

We absolutely loved our stay at soaring eagle. The views and atmosphere are amazing and the cabin itself is lovely and spacious. We didn’t want to leave!

We stayed at Soaring Eagle again this year and it was awesome as usual. The view is amazing. Since we visit in December, the set up with heaters inside the enclosed patio are perfect for the cold dash in & out of the hot tub. I love that they are also CAT friendly (not only dogs). Maxine enjoyed being lazy in the rocking chair right next to the fireplace. We will be back and enjoyed the different experience of "hearing the ice on the lake crack, shift & echo across the lake".

My husband and I stayed at the Soaring Eagle and absolutely loved it. It was a much needed break to kind of slip off the routine of every day life. The cabin was clean and one of the coziest places we've ever been. I will definitely be coming back. Also, they were so friendly to us. I couldn't have been happier.

We have been vacationing in Brown County for 25 years and of the many places we have traveled it is our favorite! We loved Soaring Eagle Cabin and spent our 25th anniversary there. It is quaint and very private with a big deck. The view of the lake is great and the hot tub was wonderful!
